"FANCY NANCY" Event, September 19, 2015

  Friday, September 18, PAA members went to Los Altos to set up for the much anticipated new event
"FANCY NANCY"

An almost empty church hall greeted us....

...with Mary, Cathy, Adrienne (hidden) & Sarah's help it changed quickly!

What a terrific centerpiece!!!

We are ready on Saturday morning to open the doors....

In the kitchen all was prepared because Mae, on right, was in charge

The photo booth was busy!!! Some dads were also in the audience
Boas for sale; bags with goodies....

The book's illustrator was a hit with all who attended....

 This show, "Fancy Nancy" and "American Girl Doll" Tea & Fashion Show in November,
could not happen if we did not have the wonderful help from NCL Daughters and Mothers.

September 2015 Membership Meeting

        After the monthly auxiliary business was taken care off, we worked on items for our first-ever
                                           "FANCY NANCY" event to be held on Sept. 19;
                                  Corresponding Secretary, Mary Anne York & Mary H., above
         Rolling & tying scrolls, a gift item, or cutting fleece to make boas, one of the items for sale,      
                 are: Marzette W., Nancy B., Marlene Bollhoffer (RwH), and Sharon Brugos (HB)
Social Chair, Dallas Manning, is selling raffle tickets, and BJ S. will be cutting
one of the boas which came in a multitude of colors!!

Turning from Welch Rd into LPCH driveway
Set to open in 2017, the expansion will include 149 new patient beds, 6 new surgical suites, 3.5 acres of healing gardens, and more.
To date: 6,150 cubic yards of structural concrete have been poured. There will be 110,000 cubic yards in total, which would fill 500,000 bathtubs.
12 million pounds of reinforcing steel has been installed. There will be 20 mill pounds in total - more than the Eiffel Tower!
36,250 truckloads of soil have been removed, enough to fill 2,700 backyard swimming pools.

June 2015 Membership Meeting

ON JUNE 9, 2015, NANCY LARSSON, PRESIDENT OF PAA, introduced NANCY CONTRO, DIRECTOR OF BEREAVEMENT AND FAMILY GUIDANCE, at the MEETING held in the BOARDROOM of
LUCILE PACKARD FOUNDATION for CHILDREN'S HEALTH, 400 HAMILTON, PALO ALTO

With Nancy Contro (on right) was her part-time assistant, Aly Yisrael.
They came to thank the auxiliary (ies) for the payout of $200,000 from the Endowment Fund.
One of the many services they offer: Gifts for the siblings.....

Reading Material for the whole Family...

       A wonderful "day out" for all family members at N.C. Equine Facilitated Therapy in Woodside,                       working with wood or paper, going horse-back riding or just sitting and watching children,
as some grandparents did.
